Overview

The S3300-G2 is the largest S series (G2) model: 3.3kW and 3.3kVA, up to 4.95kW of PV on one string and 14.3A AC output. With 97.4% peak efficiency, IP65 and a 290×220×116mm housing, it suits single-phase homes with one PV string within the 500V input limit. This version includes AFCI and a WiLAN Wi-Fi/LAN monitoring module, and the model is covered by FoxESS's CEI 0-21 and VDE-AR-N 4105 certificates.

How it works

The S series (G2) are transformerless single-phase grid-tied inverters for one PV string. A single MPP tracker operates from 50V to 480V with a 360V rated input, takes up to 14A and starts producing from 60V, which allows short strings of a few modules. Output is 220/230/240V at 50/60Hz, with power factor adjustable from 0.8 leading to 0.8 lagging. Seven sizes run from S700-G2 to S3300-G2.

Key features

Peak efficiency reaches 97.4% on the 2–3.3kW sizes, with 96.8% European efficiency and 99% MPPT efficiency. The inverter is convection-cooled, below 30dB, and draws under 1W at night. Insulation, residual current, anti-islanding and AC overvoltage protection are standard; DC/AC type II surge protection, a DC switch and AFCI are offered as options. Export limitation works with a CT clamped on the grid line or with an Eastron or Chint meter on RS485.

Installation and compatibility

The 5.4kg unit hangs on a wall bracket and is rated IP65 for indoor or outdoor use, out of direct sun, rain and snow. FoxESS asks for 300mm free on each side, above, below and in front. The AC side needs a dedicated micro-breaker, 16A up to 1.5kW and 25A for 2–3.3kW, with 2.5mm² or 4mm² cable. Where an external RCD is required, FoxESS recommends type A, 100–300mA unless local rules say otherwise.

For Italy, FoxESS publishes a CEI 0-21 certificate for S1000-G2 to S3300-G2; German VDE-AR-N 4105 unit and NS certificates cover S600-G2 to S3300-G2, and the datasheet adds EN 50549-1, VDE V 0126-1-1, C10/11 and G98. As the manual states, the local distribution grid operator's approval is needed before connecting the inverter to the grid.

Monitoring and settings

A plug-in Wi-Fi, LAN or 4G datalogger connects to the FoxCloud app and web portal for production data and remote settings; the LCD with touch key shows status locally. RS485 also serves third-party monitoring, and an ISO alarm output is available.
