Overview

T-REX-10KLP3G01 is a 10kW three-phase hybrid inverter for 48V batteries, charging and discharging at up to 200A. Its two single-string MPP trackers handle up to 13kW of PV with a 900V maximum input voltage and a 720V nominal voltage. The backup output delivers 10kVA on all three phases and switches over within 20ms, while a smart meter with CT, included and mandatory, controls export. The inverter weighs 38.9kg, is rated IP65 and mounts on a wall bracket.

  • 10kW three-phase output, L1/L2/L3/N/PE 230/400V
  • 48V battery, 40–60V, 200A charge and discharge
  • Two MPPT, 900V maximum PV voltage
  • Backup transfer within 20ms
  • Smart meter with CT supplied for export control
  • IP65, -25…+60°C operation

How it works

T-REX-10KLP3G01, sold under the FelicityESS label, is a three-phase hybrid inverter with separate on-grid and backup terminals. It charges a low-voltage battery from PV or the grid, feeds household loads and can export surplus energy. When the grid fails the backup terminal is switched over within 20ms, and the system can also run with no battery connected as long as PV or grid is present.

The battery port accepts 40–60V lithium-ion or lead-acid banks at up to 200A, or 10kW. Lithium batteries are configured in the app and communicate over CAN or RS485. The unit has no input for a battery temperature sensor, so the manual asks installers using lead-acid batteries to check charge settings with the manufacturer.

Key features

Two MPP trackers with one string each accept up to 13kW of PV in total (6.5kW per input), with a 900V maximum input, a 200–850V MPPT window and full-load tracking from 450V. Grid-side output is 10kW at 14.5A per phase, with a 30A continuous pass-through to the backup loads. The datasheet also lists AC coupling for retrofitting an existing PV system, customisable charge and discharge scheduling and charging from a diesel generator.

Installation and compatibility

The 38.9kg inverter hangs on a bracket fixed with M8 expansion bolts to concrete or another non-combustible wall, with 200mm of side clearance and 450mm above and below, up to 2000m altitude. An external 200A DC breaker and 50mm² cable are needed on the battery side, and a 30A four-pole AC breaker on the grid side, plus a separate breaker on the backup side. An RCD is not required because an RCMU is integrated; where local rules ask for one, type A or B at 30mA can be used.

The smart meter with CT supplied in the box is compulsory and must sit between the house loads and the grid. The datasheet lists VDE-AR-N 4105 under grid regulation; the grid standard menu also offers country settings such as Italy, Germany, Spain, Poland and EN 50549, which are changed through Fsolar with a password.

Monitoring and settings

Status is shown on an LCD with LED indicators, while detailed settings are made in the app over the Wi-Fi module. Work modes include self-use, where PV covers the load before charging the battery, time-based charging and discharging, and Zero Export to Load or to CT with an adjustable grid power limit. The manual notes that even a 0W export limit may allow a deviation of up to 100W.

Questions and answers

What warranty does the T-REX-10KLP3G01 carry?

The datasheet states 10 years. The FelicityESS warranty policy specifies five years covering parts and labour, followed by five further years of free inspection only, excluding labour and parts.

Is a meter needed?

Yes. The smart meter with CT included in the box is compulsory for installation and is used to measure grid power direction and magnitude.

Can it work with lead-acid batteries?

Lead-acid is listed as a battery type, but the inverter has no terminal for a battery temperature sensor, so the manual advises asking the manufacturer about charge settings.

How much PV can I connect?

The maximum recommended PV power is 13kW, 6.5kW per MPP input, with strings up to 900V.
