Overview

Forty-eight 505Wp modules (24.24kWp) with the Deye SUN-20K-SG01HP3-EU-AM2: 20kW three-phase output, 32kW maximum PV input on two MPPTs with two strings each, and a 160–700V battery input. Storage is 20.48 or 40.96kWh of Deye 5.12kWh rack modules; the eight-module version matches a BOS-G40-Pro cluster, while the four-module option is under Deye's five-module minimum and needs confirming. For commercial roofs and farms that need high-voltage storage.

How the kits work

Every kit pairs a Deye three-phase hybrid inverter for high-voltage lithium batteries with a field of 505Wp or 590Wp modules and a Deye rack battery system. Because the battery runs at several hundred volts, currents stay low: 37A on the 10–20kW models, 50A on the 25kW, 75A on the 30kW and two inputs of 50A or 80A on the 50kW and 80kW. Surplus PV is stored, used on site or exported, and the backup port takes over the critical loads when the grid fails.

Battery systems

Deye's BOS-G-Pro uses 5.12kWh BOS-G-Pack5.1 modules connected in series under a BOS-G-PDU-2 control box, from 5 modules (25.6kWh, 256V) to 16 modules (81.92kWh) per cluster. BOS-A uses 7.68kWh modules, 7 to 21 per cluster, so 13 modules give 99.84kWh at 499.2V. Both are IP20 rack systems that Deye requires to be installed in an enclosed, fireproof room with its own fire alarm, with 100mm to walls and between racks. Clusters in one group must have the same module count.

Inverter functions

All inverters accept fully unbalanced loads, deliver 1.5 times rated power for 10 seconds off-grid and pass 80A (10–30kW) or 200A (50–80kW) from grid to loads. Charging and discharging follow six time periods, with Selling First, Zero Export to Load and Zero Export to CT modes. The GEN port takes a diesel generator with automatic start, a smart load or an existing on-grid inverter by AC coupling. Up to 10 inverters of the same model run in parallel, each with its own battery from Deye's approved list.

Installation and what to add

The IP65 inverters are wall-mounted with about 50cm free around them and 100cm in front. Deye supplies CTs for export control and recommends a smart meter for long CT cables. The installer adds the mounting structures, string cabling and protection, AC breakers sized as in the manual, a DC protection device on the battery line, the battery room and its fire protection, and the grid connection application. Monitoring in Deye Cloud needs an optional logger.
