Overview

The X1-H5K-T is the 5kW member of Anker SOLIX's three-phase X1 power modules. It accepts up to 10kW of PV on two MPP trackers working between 140 and 950V, with 1,000V maximum input, and charges or discharges a 350–450V stack of one to six 5kWh X1-B5-H battery modules at 5kW. The backup port delivers 5.25kVA continuously and 10kVA for 10 seconds. Peak efficiency is 97.9% and European efficiency 96.0%. At 670×450×150mm and 30kg it suits three-phase homes with moderate loads.

  • 5, 8, 10 and 12kW three-phase, 230/400V
  • Two MPPTs, 140–950V, 1,000V maximum input
  • One to six 5kWh X1-B5-H battery modules
  • Backup output with <10ms switchover
  • Up to six systems in parallel on-grid
  • IP66 enclosure, 670×450×150mm, 30kg, ≤30dB

How it works

The X1 power module is the inverter of the Anker SOLIX X1 system: it takes PV power from two MPP trackers, charges and discharges a high-voltage LFP battery stack of 350–450V and exchanges energy with a three-phase 230/400V grid. A separate AC backup port supplies protected loads when the grid fails, switching in under 10ms. Each battery module X1-B5-H stores 5kWh and contains its own energy optimiser, so a weak or faulty pack does not limit the others.

One power module manages one to six battery modules, giving 5 to 30kWh of storage, and battery modules can be added later as consumption grows. Anker's datasheet allows up to six systems in parallel on the grid side, which takes a site to 72kW and 180kWh; in off-grid operation only a single system's output is available.

Key features

All four sizes share the same PV input: 140–950V MPPT window, 160V start-up, 600V rated and 1,000V maximum voltage, 16A per tracker and 20A short-circuit current, one string per tracker. Maximum PV power is twice the AC rating, from 10kW on the X1-H5K-T to 24kW on the X1-H12K-T. Backup peak output reaches 10kVA for 10 seconds on the 5kW model and 16–20kVA on the larger ones. The topology is transformerless and the enclosure is rated IP66.

Installation and compatibility

The 670×450×150mm module weighs 30kg and stacks with the 51kg battery modules on a floor base or on wall brackets. The manual allows one power module and at most four battery modules per column, so five or six batteries need a second column 300–600mm away. Keep at least 300mm free at each side and 500mm above. Anker specifies 6mm² copper for each AC conductor and 4–6mm² PV cable.

If an external RCD is required it must be type B, with 300mA recommended. The box includes a DTSU power sensor with current transformers for the grid connection point. The datasheet lists VDE-AR-N 4105, VDE V 0124-100, Austrian OVE R25, EN 50549-1/-2, EIFS 2018:2, NC RfG, C10/11, PTPiREE, UNE 217002, PPDS 2022 and AS/NZS 4777.2, with safety to EN IEC 62109-1/-2; no Italian CEI 0-21 certificate is listed.

Monitoring and settings

Installers commission the system with the Anker SOLIX Professional app, which creates the site, updates firmware, configures the meter and runs a system test; owners monitor it in the Anker app. Connectivity covers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet and optional 4G. Energy modes include self-consumption, time-of-use and off-grid, with Anker Intelligence using tariffs and forecasts. Dry contacts drive an SG-Ready heat pump, and DRED or ripple-control receivers can be connected.

Questions and answers

Which batteries work with the X1 power modules?

Anker SOLIX X1 battery modules, model X1-B5-H, 5kWh each, from one to six modules per power module.

What is the maximum PV string voltage?

1,000V open-circuit voltage at the lowest expected temperature; the MPPT operating window is 140–950V and start-up requires 160V.

Can the system be wall-mounted?

Yes. Power and battery modules can be mounted on a floor base or on wall brackets, with no more than one power module and four battery modules per column.

Does the backup output cover the whole house?

The backup port supplies the loads wired to it, at up to 5.25–12.6kVA continuous depending on the model. Off-grid, only one system's output is available even when several are installed in parallel.
