Overview
The OHS-HV100 (V-TAC SKU 12151) is the high-voltage cluster control box that sits on top of every OHS tower. It contains the BMS, an air switch for current protection, the BMS start button, a display, Wi-Fi and the DC and CAN/RS485 ports to the inverter. It works from 120 to 750V DC with 40A nominal and 50A maximum current, so it manages towers of OH-5K modules in series. The IP65 unit measures 590×165×420mm and weighs 16.1kg.

How it works
An OHS tower stands on the OH-Base, carries a chosen number of OH-5K battery modules connected in series and is topped by the OHS-HV100 high-voltage control box. Each OH-5K adds 5.12kWh and 51.2V, so four modules give 204.8V and 20.48kWh and eight give 409.6V and 40.96kWh. The control box holds the BMS, an air switch, the BMS on/off button, a display, Wi-Fi and the DC and communication ports to the inverter.
V-TAC recommends 40A charge and discharge current, with 50A maximum, and quotes usable energy at 80% depth of discharge, for example 16.38kWh for a four-module tower. The system is rated for at least 6,000 cycles at 25°C and 0.5C to 70% end-of-life capacity. V-TAC's datasheet allows up to 10 modules in series and six towers in parallel.
Installation
Modules, base and control box are stacked and fixed with side screws; supplied items include the 2m positive and negative leads to the inverter, communication cables, an earthing lead, a 120Ω terminal resistor and waterproof RJ45 connectors. The manual specifies charging at 0–45°C, discharging at -10 to +55°C, 5–85% humidity, altitude up to 2,000m, a level floor, a site out of direct sun and wind and away from salt air, and a dry-powder extinguisher nearby. Installation is for trained electricians only.
Compatibility and settings
The battery communicates with the inverter over CAN. Deye's CEI 0-21 declaration for its SG01HP3 three-phase HV hybrids (SUN-5K to SUN-25K-SG01HP3-EU-AM2) lists the OH-5K with four to 48 modules. With inverters that cannot communicate with the battery, the manual gives fixed settings: maximum charge voltage 56.0V × N modules, cut-off 49.0V × N at 20% SOC, restart 51.2V × N and 50A charge and discharge.
Monitoring
The control box display shows SOC, system voltage, current, minimum and maximum cell voltages and temperatures, relay and heating status, insulation resistance and fault codes. Through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi the Xiaodan Energy Storage app for Android and iOS shows charge and discharge data, sends alarms and installs software updates.

Can I add modules later?
The tower is modular and accepts up to 10 modules in series according to V-TAC; the inverter's battery voltage window must cover the new tower voltage, for Deye SG01HP3 160–700V.
Which inverters are approved in Italy?
Deye's CEI 0-21 declaration lists the OH-5K with SUN-5K to SUN-25K-SG01HP3-EU-AM2 three-phase hybrids, with four to 48 modules.
How much energy is usable?
V-TAC quotes usable energy at 80% DoD: 16.38kWh for 20.48kWh, 20.48kWh for 25.6kWh, 24.58kWh for 30.72kWh, 28.67kWh for 35.84kWh and 32.77kWh for 40.96kWh.
Is the battery suitable for outdoor installation?
Modules and control box are IP65, but the manual specifies a site sheltered from sun and wind, away from salt air and condensation; plan a protected location.
