Who we areNew, original Victron Energy products with full manufacturer warranty, supplied with their documentation.
The BlueSolar MPPT 150/35 charges 12V to 48V batteries at up to 35A from PV arrays of up to 150V open-circuit voltage and 40A short-circuit current. Nominal PV power is 500W at 12V, 1000W at 24V, 1500W at 36V and 2000W at 48V. At 1.25kg and 186×130×70mm it uses the same housing size as the 100/30 and 100/50, with 16mm² terminals, and Victron specifies a 40–45A battery fuse.
With a 150V input limit these controllers take longer series strings than the 100V models and charge batteries from 12V to 48V; 12V, 24V and 48V are detected automatically, while 36V is selected with a software tool. The 150V figure is the absolute maximum at the coldest conditions, and 145V is the limit for start-up and operation. Charging is adaptive in three stages, and the internal sensor compensates the charge voltages for temperature.
Nominal PV power ranges from 500W at 12V to 2000W at 48V for the 150/35, and from 650W to 2600W for the 150/45; more PV can be connected, with input limited by the controller. Maximum efficiency exceeds 98% without a cooling fan, with full current up to 40°C. Eight preset algorithms are selected by rotary switch, or a custom one in VictronConnect. Self-consumption is 20mA at 12V, 15mA at 24V and 10mA at 48V.
Mount vertically with the terminals at the bottom, 10cm clear above and below, within 3m of the battery and never above it. The 16mm² screw terminals take flexible stranded copper cable. Battery fuses are 40–45A for the 150/35 and 50–63A for the 150/45. When sizing strings, include the module temperature coefficient, since Voc rises in cold weather, and do not connect modules with optimisers. A virtual load output is available through a VE.Direct TX cable, as there is no physical one.
Communication runs through the VE.Direct port: a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle or USB interface links to VictronConnect, which shows real-time data and 30 days of history and installs firmware updates, while a VE.Direct cable connects a GX device and the VRM Portal. A non-inverting VE.Direct remote on/off cable lets an external switch or BMS turn charging on and off.
Yes, but 36V is not detected automatically: it has to be selected with VictronConnect or another Victron software tool.
150V is the absolute maximum PV open-circuit voltage under the coldest conditions; the controller starts and operates with up to 145V.
Victron specifies 40–45A for the 150/35 and 50–63A for the 150/45, on the battery connection, even if other fuses are already present.
Not built in. Add a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle to use VictronConnect on a phone or tablet.
