Overview

The X3-PRO-20K-G2 is the largest two-tracker model of the SolaX X3-PRO G2 series: 20000W rated, 22000VA maximum and 29.0A per phase at 230/400V. With 150% DC oversizing it accepts up to 30kWp of PV, wired as two strings on each of its two 32A MPP trackers, and a three-tracker version is available. It suits farms, workshops and small commercial roofs on a three-phase supply. SolaX recommends a 40A AC breaker with 6–8mm² conductors; the fan-cooled IP66 housing weighs 26kg.

How it works

The X3-PRO G2 converts PV power for three-phase 220/380V or 230/400V grids, with or without neutral. Models from 8kW to 20kW have two MPP trackers and the 25kW and 30kW three; the 15kW, 17kW and 20kW can also be supplied with three. Each tracker takes two strings at up to 32A with 40A short-circuit current, and a built-in global MPP scan deals with partial shading.

With a meter, the inverter limits export to a set value. The manual covers heat-pump control through the SolaX Adapter Box G2 and integration with SolaX EV chargers. Up to five inverters can be paralleled over Modbus, or up to sixty with a SolaX DataHub, and in both cases zero injection can be controlled through a meter in the main circuit.

Key features

SolaX allows 150% DC oversizing, from 12kWp on the 8kW to 45kWp on the 30kW model, with 8000W to 15000W available from a single tracker on its own. The MPPT range is 160–980V, nominal input 650V and start-up 200V. Maximum efficiency is 98.2% to 98.5% and European efficiency 97.7% to 98.0%, rising with model size. Type II SPD is fitted on DC and AC; AFCI and APS are options.

Installation and compatibility

All models share a 482×417×186mm IP66 housing weighing 24.5kg up to 12kW, 26kg for 15–20kW and 28kg for 25kW and 30kW. Up to 12kW cooling is natural at under 35dB; larger models use smart fan cooling. Operating range is -30°C to +60°C at up to 4000m. Leave 10cm below the terminals and 35cm between units. Recommended breakers run from 20A on the 8kW to 63A on the 30kW model.

Grid standards listed include EN 50549, VDE-AR-N 4105, CEI 0-16, CEI 0-21, G98, G99 and AS/NZS 4777.2, with safety to IEC/EN 62109-1/-2. SolaX publishes CEI 0-21 and CEI 0-16 certificates covering the X3-PRO-8K-G2 to 30K-G2, so the series can be used on Italian low- and medium-voltage connections, together with an EU declaration of conformity.

Monitoring and settings

Monitoring and remote settings run on SolaXCloud through an optional SolaX WiFi, LAN or 4G dongle. Interfaces for meter, USB, Modbus RTU and DRM are built in, and an LCD with keys handles local commissioning. Night-time consumption is below 3W, and firmware updates are installed from a USB drive.
