Overview

The X1-BOOST-3K-G4 is a 3kW single-phase string inverter with two MPP trackers. SolaX allows up to 6.0kWp of PV, split over two strings of up to 16A each, with an MPPT window of 40–560V and a 50V start-up voltage. Rated output is 3000W with up to 3300VA apparent power, and SolaX recommends a 20A AC micro-breaker. The fanless 11kg IP66 unit runs at a typical 25dB.

How it works

The X1-BOOST G4 is a transformerless single-phase inverter that feeds PV energy directly into the grid. Two MPP trackers each take one string at up to 16A, so two roof faces or high-current modules can be combined, and a built-in global MPP scan helps under partial shading. With a SolaX meter or CT at the grid connection point, the integrated export control holds the power sent to the grid at a set limit.

The manual covers more than plain feed-in: ATS-controlled generator operation, heat-pump control with the SolaX Adapter Box or Adapter Box G2, and coordination with a SolaX EV charger. Up to five inverters can be linked over Modbus as one master and several slaves, and up to sixty under a SolaX DataHub, which then manages zero export through a meter in the main circuit.

Key features

SolaX allows up to twice the rated output on the DC side, from 6kWp on the 2.5kW and 3kW models to 12kWp on the 6kW model. The MPPT range is 40–560V with 360V nominal input and a 50V start-up voltage. Maximum efficiency is 98.0% and European efficiency 97.0%. Type II surge protection on DC and AC, I-V curve diagnosis, readiness for an external rapid-shutdown device and optional AFCI complete the specification.

Installation and compatibility

The IP66 housing measures 404×274×146mm and weighs 11kg, or 11.5kg for the 5kW and 6kW models; it is naturally cooled with a typical noise level of 25dB and runs from -25°C to +60°C at up to 4000m. Leave 15cm below the terminals when a Pocket WiFi+4G dongle is used and 35cm between inverters. SolaX recommends AC micro-breakers of 20A up to 4kW, 25A for 4.2kW and 32A for 5kW and 6kW.

Listed grid standards are IEC 61727, EN 50549, G98/G99, AS 4777.2, VDE 4105, CEI 0-21, VFR, PPDS and TOR, with safety to EN/IEC 62109-1/-2. SolaX publishes a CEI 0-21 declaration for the X1-BOOST-2.5K-G4 to 6K-G4 and an EU declaration of conformity. Where VDE-AR-N 4105 applies, the 5kW model is limited to 4600VA output.

Monitoring and settings

Monitoring and remote settings run on SolaXCloud through a SolaX Pocket WiFi, LAN or 4G dongle; with the newer WiFi dongle, data refresh every 10 seconds. Commissioning is possible over WiFi with the SolaX app or on the 16×2 LCD with status LEDs. RS485, DRM, USB and a heat-pump interface are built in, while a meter or CT is an optional addition for export control and consumption readings.
