Overview

The TVMS Rogue (TVMS1240) is the compact hub of a REDARC RedVision system: a 25mm-thick, 430g module that switches ten 12V loads of up to 10A each, 40A in total, with PWM dimming on every channel and software fuses that can be reset from the display. Eight switch inputs and two analogue inputs for tank senders, temperature or voltage complete it, and it can switch off all channels to protect the auxiliary battery. Control needs a DISP4300 display, sold separately; adding a Manager30 brings battery state of charge to the screen.

  • TVMS Rogue: 10 outputs of 10A, all PWM-dimmable
  • 40A total, 9–16V supply, software-fused outputs
  • 8 switch inputs and 2 analogue sensor inputs
  • DISP4300 display with built-in Bluetooth for the RedVision app
  • Works with Manager30 for battery state of charge
  • Configured with the free RedVision Configurator app

How it works

RedVision is REDARC's vehicle management system. The TVMS Rogue is a 25mm-thick hub powered from the 12V auxiliary battery that switches up to ten loads, such as lights, fans, pumps, a fridge or an inverter's remote input, each limited to 10A by software fusing, with 40A for the whole module. Every output can dim LED lighting by PWM. The DISP4300 display, sold separately, is the control screen and holds the Bluetooth link to the RedVision app on iOS or Android.

Eight digital inputs accept pushbutton or rocker switches, ignition or voltage signals and 12V PIR sensors, so loads can be controlled from around the vehicle as well as from the screen. Two analogue inputs read tank level senders, temperature or a DC voltage, with up to ten calibration points. Added to a Manager30 battery management system, the display also shows state of charge, charging inputs and power use.

Installation and compatibility

Mount the Rogue close to the auxiliary battery in a dry, cool place, in any orientation except connectors facing up, with four M4–M6 screws whose heads do not exceed 13mm. Leave about 100mm around the connectors and 50mm on all sides in enclosed spaces. The supply needs a 50A MIDI fuse within 150mm of the battery, and cable of at least 7.7mm² up to 2m, 13.5mm² up to 5m and 20.2mm² up to 12m of total length.

The Rogue needs a DISP4300 with serial number above 2207089886; REDARC says displays made from January 2023 work, and those made between July 2022 and January 2023 can be upgraded. The DISP4300 also fits Manager30 units BMS1230S2 and BMS1230S3 and the TVMS Prime (TVMS1280). R-Bus devices are daisy-chained with a terminating resistor at each end.

Safety and configuration

Outputs must never be paralleled, power sources must not be connected to them, and the output negative must not go to chassis ground. REDARC warns against controlling safety-critical or remotely hazardous devices, such as lifters or fume extraction fans. Configuration is carried out once with the RedVision Configurator app through the display, and an installer PIN can lock the settings; day-to-day use relies on the display and the RedVision app.

Questions and answers

Is a display included with the TVMS Rogue?

No. The TVMS1240 kit contains the main unit and its wiring looms; the DISP4300 display is sold separately and is needed for Bluetooth app control.

Which tank sensors can the TVMS Rogue read?

Its analogue inputs accept 0–5V, 0.5–4.5V, 240–33Ω and 0–190Ω senders. REDARC recommends float sensors and its TLSEN range is made for the Rogue.

Can I combine two outputs to power a 20A load?

No. REDARC states that outputs must not be paralleled; each channel is limited to 10A and the module to 40A in total.

Does the TVMS Rogue show battery state of charge?

Not on its own. State of charge, input and output power appear when the system includes a REDARC Manager30 battery management system.
