Pylontech Force H3X FH3X-15K-HY-3P15kW three-phase hybrid power controller for FH10050 battery stacks

Overview

The FH3X-15K-HY-3P is the largest Force H3X controller: 15kW three-phase, 21.7A per phase, 22.5kVA backup peak for 60 seconds and up to 24kW of PV on three MPPTs. With three to seven FH10050 modules, 15.36–35.84kWh, it charges and discharges at the full 15kW; two modules limit it to 10kW. Grid import reaches 22.5kW. It needs a 50A four-pole breaker and 6mm² AC cables; Pylontech positions Force H3X for homes and small-scale commercial use.

How it works

Each three-phase Force H3X system consists of a power controller on its base with two to seven FH10050 modules stacked above it and connected in series, from 10.24kWh at 204.8V to 35.84kWh at 716.8V. The controller box includes the base, stack brackets, a meter, three CTs and all AC, PV and communication connectors, so no separate battery cables or junction boxes are needed.

Three MPPTs take PV strings from 200V to 850V, with 20A per tracker and up to 1000V input. The grid and backup ports are rated 3/N/PE 230/400V, and Pylontech specifies support for 100% unbalanced three-phase loads. Backup switchover takes 10ms or less, and for 60 seconds the backup port can deliver 1.5 times the rated power.

Key features

The battery side handles 50A continuous. With two modules it charges at up to 10kW and discharges at up to 10kW, or 8kW on the 8kW model; with three to seven modules charging reaches 15kW and discharge equals the rated output. Grid import goes up to 1.5 times rated power. AFCI, residual current monitoring, insulation monitoring, type II surge protection and an EPO input are standard, with 98% maximum and 97.5% European efficiency.

Installation and compatibility

The IP65, C5-M system can be installed indoors or outdoors on a fixed, level surface that carries at least 300kg, keeping 40mm to the wall, 2m to heat sources and 0.3m between stacks. Pylontech recommends a four-pole type C breaker, 32A for 8 and 10kW and 50A for 12 and 15kW, with 4mm² or 6mm² AC cables. The CTs may be placed up to 50m from the system.

Listed grid codes include CEI 0-21, VDE-AR-N 4105, EN 50549-1 and -10, C10/11, TOR, PTPiREE and NA/EEA-NE7-CH. Power is reduced above 45°C and above 2000m. A DRM0 dry contact lets German grid operators curtail power under §14a EnWG, and up to six units can be paralleled with external devices.

Monitoring and settings

Commissioning and monitoring run through Pylon Cloud via Wi-Fi, LAN or Bluetooth, using the PylontechPro app for installers and the Pylontech app for owners. The same modes as the single-phase range are available, from intelligent dynamic tariff optimisation to full off-grid, plus heat pump switching. Systems kept online receive ten years of warranty, otherwise five, according to the user manual.
