Overview

A 14.16kWp three-phase kit built around the Hoymiles HYT-12.0HV-EUG1, a 12kW hybrid inverter for high-voltage lithium batteries of 170–600V. The array stays below the 15kW of PV that Hoymiles recommends for this model, with one string on the first MPPT and two on the second. It works without battery from day one, with export limitation and fully unbalanced three-phase output, and storage can be connected later.

How the kit works

The kit pairs PV modules with the Hoymiles HYT-12.0HV-EUG1, the 12kW model of the HYT-HV three-phase hybrid series. The Hoymiles manual states that the series works with or without battery, so the system can start as a grid-connected plant and take a high-voltage lithium battery later. Its energy management offers self-consumption, economical and backup modes, and monitoring runs through S-Miles Cloud.

Key features

Two MPPTs cover a 200–950V voltage range; the second MPPT accepts two strings at up to 28A, the first one string at 14A. Hoymiles quotes a DC/AC ratio of up to 150% and 15kW of recommended PV power. The battery input accepts 170–600V at up to 30A and 10kW. Output is 12kW with fully unbalanced three-phase capability and intelligent export limitation, at 98.0% maximum and 97.5% European efficiency.

Installation and backup

The inverter weighs 26.5kg, measures 502×486×202mm, is rated IP65 and cooled by natural convection, for -25…+65°C with derating above 45°C. A built-in dry contact can be set for earth-fault alarm, load control or generator control. The EPS port switches in under 10ms, but the Hoymiles manual strongly advises against using the backup function when no battery is connected. Up to 10 inverters can run in parallel.

What the installer adds

Mounting structures, DC and AC cabling, string and AC protections, the energy meter for export limitation, the communication stick (RS485 standard, with Wi-Fi, Ethernet and 4G options) and the grid connection request are not part of the kit. Hoymiles lists EN 50549, VDE-AR-N 4105, TOR Erzeuger Type A and CEI 0-21 among the grid standards of the series.
