Hoymiles HMS-1000-2WB1000VA Wi-Fi and Bluetooth microinverter for two PV modules

Overview

The HMS-1000-2WB, marketed as HiFlow 1000 Pro, is the 1000VA two-module model of Hoymiles' HiFlow Pro range. Each of its two MPPT inputs handles up to 16A and 25A short-circuit current at up to 65V, matching modules from 400W to 670W and above. Built-in 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connect it to S-Miles Cloud or directly to the S-Miles Home app, and the output limit can be set as a percentage. With the Flex-S3 Schuko cable it plugs into a household socket for balcony and garden systems.

How it works

HiFlow Pro microinverters, with the model codes HMS-xxxx-2WB and HMS-xxxx-4WB, convert two or four PV modules into 230V single-phase AC, each module on its own MPPT between 16V and 60V. The integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module removes the need for a separate gateway: the unit reports to S-Miles Cloud through the home router, or is managed locally from a phone over Bluetooth within about 3m. A galvanically isolated HF transformer separates the modules from the grid.

Setup and monitoring run in the S-Miles Home app, which shows real-time output and lets the user set an active power limit as a percentage, even when no meter is installed. The system can include Shelly smart meters and smart sockets, and other Hoymiles devices can be added to the same plant. Hoymiles states compliance with the ETSI EN 303 645 cybersecurity standard.

Installation and compatibility

In a typical balcony system the microinverter is fixed to its bracket with M8 screws at 9Nm, the modules are mounted above it and the bracket is secured to the railing. The Flex-S3 plug-and-play cable, 1mm², 5m with a CEE 7/7 Schuko plug, connects the unit directly to a household socket. Keep at least 2cm of space around the housing. Recommended module power is 400–670W and more on the 500VA-per-input models.

Standards and warranty

The European versions comply with VDE-AR-N 4105:2018, EN 50549-1:2019 and VFR 2019, plus IEC/EN 62109-1/-2 safety and IEC/EN 61000 EMC standards, and meet rapid shutdown requirements. Housings are naturally cooled, rated IP67 and specified from -40°C to +65°C, with night consumption below 50mW. Hoymiles' European warranty terms give HiFlow Pro models a 12-year standard warranty; the 25-year extension for non-Wi-Fi microinverters does not apply.
