Overview

FLS48100SMG1 is the expansion pack of the first-generation FLS48100SG1 stackable system, holding 5.12kWh of 51.2V, 100Ah LiFePO4 cells in a 600×450×180mm, 46kg housing. It is stacked on an FLS48100SCG1 control pack, which carries the LCD, breaker and inverter terminals, and up to seven expansion packs can be added for 40.96kWh. Busbars rated 450A, a ground wire and a parallel communication cable are supplied with each pack.

  • 5.12kWh, 51.2V, 100Ah per pack
  • One control pack plus up to seven expansion packs
  • 5.12kWh to 40.96kWh per stack
  • Up to 400A continuous for a full stack
  • Casters, base and busbars for tool-light stacking
  • Aerosol fire suppression, 10-year warranty

How it works

An FLS48100 system is a vertical stack of 5.12kWh, 51.2V LiFePO4 packs standing on a wheeled base. One control pack (SCG suffix) carries the LCD, the DC breaker, the external fuse and the terminals for the inverter cables; expansion packs (SMG suffix) are stacked with it. Both pack types contain battery cells. All packs are connected in parallel, so the stack stays at 51.2V while the capacity grows from 5.12kWh to 40.96kWh with eight packs.

Two generations are sold: G1 (FLS48100SCG1 and FLS48100SMG1) and G2 (FLS48100SCG2 and FLS48100SMG2). Felicitysolar documents each generation with its own datasheet and manual, and the manuals ask installers not to mix batteries of different models, types or ages, so a stack should be extended with packs of the same generation.

Key features

Each pack is rated 50A recommended and 60A maximum continuous current, with 100A for 15s. For a complete stack the datasheet tabulates the totals: 400A recommended and 400A maximum continuous with eight packs, and 800A peak. Depth of discharge is at least 95% and cycle life at least 6,000 cycles at 0.2C and 80% depth of discharge. The control pack shows voltage, current, temperature and state of charge for every module.

Installation and compatibility

The system is intended for indoor installation away from direct sunlight, wind, conductive dust and corrosive gases, on level ground below 2000m. Casters are fitted to the base for short moves, the packs are fixed together with trestles and screws, and plastic anchors secure the stack to the wall. The control pack box includes 35mm² power cables rated 150A, a grey RS485 cable for Felicitysolar inverters and a blue CAN cable for Felicitysolar or other inverters.

Each expansion pack comes with two soft copper busbars rated 450A, a ground wire and a black cable for communication between packs. Felicitysolar publishes CAN communication guides for its low-voltage batteries with Victron, SolaX, Solis, SOFAR, Luxpower, Megarevo and Sol-Ark inverters. Series connection is not permitted.

Monitoring and settings

Pack addresses are set on DIP switches before start-up, and the whole stack switches on or off from the control pack. With a Felicitysolar inverter the data are read over the BMS link; with other brands the built-in Wi-Fi sends them to the Fsolar app and web portal. The LCD scrolls through the information of each parallel module, and LEDs on every expansion pack show its state of charge in 5% steps.

Questions and answers

What is the difference between SCG and SMG packs?

SCG is the primary control pack with the display, breaker and inverter terminals; SMG is an expansion pack. Both contain 5.12kWh of LiFePO4 cells, and every stack needs one SCG pack.

How many packs can be stacked?

Up to eight packs in parallel, one control pack and seven expansion packs, for 40.96kWh.

Can G1 and G2 packs be mixed?

Felicitysolar documents the two generations separately, and the manuals advise against mixing different models or old and new batteries, so each stack should use one generation.

What current can a stack deliver?

The datasheet gives 60A maximum continuous per pack, rising to 400A for seven or eight packs, with peaks up to 800A for 15s on a full stack.
