Overview

SUN-2K-G04P1-EU-AM1 is a 2kW single-phase string inverter (2.2kVA maximum) for small homes, garages and outbuildings on a 230V supply. Its single MPP tracker accepts one string of up to 2.6kW, 550V and 20A, starting at 80V and tracking from 70 to 500V, which allows short strings. Maximum efficiency is 97.3%. The fanless IP65 housing weighs 5.6kg; Deye specifies a 16A AC breaker and 1.0mm² cable. Zero export is possible with an Eastron SDM230 or CHNT DDSU666 meter.

How it works

The G04P1-EU-AM1 series covers ten sizes from 1 to 4kW for single-phase grid connection. One MPP tracker takes a single string of up to 550V and 20A, starts at 80V and tracks between 70 and 500V, so short strings of a few modules can be used. The DC side is fed straight to a transformerless inverter stage. Maximum efficiency is 97.3% up to 2.7kW and 97.5% from 3kW, with European efficiency of 96.9% and 97.0%.

Key features

The housing is IP65, cooled by natural convection with noise of 35dB or less, and weighs 5.6kg. A DC switch, insulation and residual current monitoring, anti-islanding and type II surge protection on both DC and AC sides are built in; AFCI and an anti-PID module that repairs the PID effect of modules at night are optional. Deye also lists zero-export and VSG applications and a wide output voltage range of 0.85–1.1Un.

Installation and compatibility

Mount the inverter vertically, or tilted back by at most 15°, on a wall that bears its weight, out of direct sun, keeping at least 500mm between adjacent units. Each inverter needs its own AC breaker, from 10A on the 1kW model to 32A on the 3.6 and 4kW models, with up to 20m of outside cable. A type A RCD may be added if local rules require it, rated at 300mA or more.

For zero export, an Eastron SDM230 or CHNT DDSU666 meter is connected to the RS485 port. The datasheet lists IEC 61727, IEC 62116, CEI 0-21, EN 50549, NRS 097, RD 140, UNE 217002, G98, G99 and VDE-AR-N 4105. Deye publishes certificates for CEI 0-21, VDE-AR-N 4105, EN 50549-1 (including Netherlands and Poland) and the Spanish NTS, UNE 217001/217002 and RD 647/413/1699 rules.

Monitoring and settings

A two-line LCD (1602) with function keys shows status and is used to set the grid standard, protection parameters and the meter function for zero export. Interfaces are RS485, RS232, Wi-Fi and LAN; for remote monitoring a Deye Wi-Fi plug or data logger is inserted in the sealed slot on the housing, and string-level intelligent monitoring is optional. Operating range is -25 to 65°C with derating above 45°C, altitude up to 3000m. The warranty is 5 years.
