Overview

SUN-16K-SG01LP1-EU is the most powerful model of Deye's SG01LP1-EU single-phase range: 16kW rated, 17.6kVA maximum and 32kW for 10 seconds off-grid. It charges and discharges a 48V battery at up to 290A over two battery inputs, and its three MPP trackers with two strings each accept up to 32kW of PV access power. With 100A pass-through and up to 16 units in parallel, it suits large homes, farms and businesses that have a single-phase supply but high loads.

  • 12–16kW on one phase, 48V battery (40–60V)
  • Up to 290A charge/discharge, two battery inputs
  • 3 MPPT, 32A each, up to 32kW PV access
  • 100A pass-through, 2× peak power for 10s
  • Up to 16 units in parallel, also three-phase
  • Colour touch LCD, IP65, <45dB

How it works

The SG01LP1-EU series brings up to 16kW of hybrid inverter power to a single-phase connection. It manages PV, a 48V lead-acid or lithium battery, the grid, a backup circuit and a generator. Two battery inputs carry up to 220A (12kW), 250A (14kW) or 290A (16kW) of charge and discharge current; the battery side is transformer-isolated, and lithium batteries are charged to the limits set by their BMS.

Three MPP trackers with two strings each accept 32A per tracker, 500V maximum and a 150–425V tracking range, for up to 32kW of PV access power on the 16kW model. Grid-to-load pass-through is 100A, and off-grid the inverter delivers twice its rated power for 10 seconds.

Key features

Six time periods schedule battery use, and the work modes Selling First, Zero Export to Load and Zero Export to CT handle export. The GEN port accepts a diesel generator with a G-start contact for automatic starting, drives a smart load or connects existing PV inverters by AC coupling. Up to 16 units run in parallel on-grid or off-grid, and the manual also shows three-phase parallel arrangements built from single-phase units.

Installation and compatibility

The IP65 inverter weighs 52kg and measures 464×763×282mm. It needs about 50cm free at the sides, above and below, and 100cm in front, at up to 2000m. Deye's wiring diagrams show a 300A (12/14kW) or 350A (16kW) battery DC breaker and 200A AC breakers on the GEN and backup ports, with 35mm² (12/14kW) or 50mm² (16kW) battery cable and 25mm² cable for grid and load.

Export control works with the supplied CT or a CHNT DDSU666 or Eastron meter. The datasheet lists IEC 61727, IEC 62116 and NRS 097, and Deye's download centre carries an EU declaration of conformity and certificates such as EN 50549-10, VDE 0126 (France) and Spanish NTS for this series. Deye now marks the SG01LP1-EU version as discontinued; the SG01LP1-EU-AM3-P range is listed alongside it.

Monitoring and settings

All settings are made on the colour touch LCD, including battery type and limits, time-of-use, work mode, grid standard and GEN port use. Wi-Fi, RS485 and CAN interfaces are provided, and remote monitoring runs through Deye Cloud with a Wi-Fi logger. Operating range is -40 to 60°C with derating above 45°C. The warranty is 5 years, extendable to 10 years depending on the installation country.

Questions and answers

Why does a 16kW single-phase inverter have two battery inputs?

At 48V, 16kW needs up to 290A. Deye splits this over two battery inputs and recommends 50mm² battery cable and a 350A DC breaker for the 16kW model.

What peak power is available off-grid?

Twice the rated power for 10 seconds, so 32kW for the 16kW model.

Can three units form a three-phase system?

Yes. Up to 16 units can work in parallel and the manual includes three-phase parallel configurations made from single-phase SG01LP1 inverters.

Is this version still current?

Deye's download centre marks SUN-12/14/16K-SG01LP1-EU as discontinued and also lists the SUN-12/14/16/18K-SG01LP1-EU-AM3-P series. Documents and certificates for the EU version remain available.
