Overview

This 18.18kWp kit uses thirty-six 505Wp modules and the Deye SUN-15K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2, a 15kW three-phase hybrid inverter for 48V batteries with two battery inputs and up to 280A of charge and discharge current. Its two MPPTs take 36A each, for up to 24kW of PV input. Storage is one or two Deye SE-F16-C packs (16 or 32kWh). Grid-to-load pass-through of 70A suits small businesses that want a low-voltage battery bank.

How the kits work

Each kit combines a Deye hybrid inverter for 48V batteries, a set of 505Wp modules whose total stays below the inverter's maximum PV input power, one or two Deye SE-F battery packs and a protection box. Solar power supplies the loads first, then charges the battery, and any surplus is exported or held at zero export when the grid operator requires it. The battery port is transformer-isolated and works at 40–60V, while the SE-F packs report state of charge and limits over CAN or RS485.

Inverter and battery options

Single-phase kits use the SUN-3.6K, 5K, 6K or 8K-SG05LP1-EU-AM2-P, with 90–190A of battery current and two MPP trackers up to 500V. Three-phase kits use the SUN-6K to 12K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2, with 135–240A and 800V PV input, or the SUN-15K and 20K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2, which have two battery inputs and up to 350A. The batteries are SE-F5 Pro (5.12kWh), SE-F12 (12.03kWh) or SE-F16 (16kWh) packs with LCD display; Deye recommends 90% depth of discharge and rates the cells for at least 6000 cycles.

Backup and energy management

When the grid fails, the backup output keeps the selected circuits running and can deliver twice the rated power for 10 seconds in off-grid operation. The three-phase models accept fully unbalanced loads with up to 50% of rated power on any phase. Six programmable time periods control charging and discharging, and the work modes are Selling First, Zero Export to Load and Zero Export to CT. The GEN port accepts a generator, a smart load or an existing on-grid inverter by AC coupling.

Installation and what to add

SE-F packs are IP21 and belong in a clean, dry and ventilated indoor room; the IP65 inverters can go outdoors away from direct sun and rain, with about 50cm free at the sides and 100cm in front. Deye's manuals give the battery cable section and DC breaker for each inverter size. The installer supplies mounting structures, string cabling, AC breakers and residual-current device, the CT or meter for export control and the grid connection paperwork.
