Overview

GB-S15K-EU is the 15kW three-phase hybrid inverter of Deye's GB-SL Pro all-in-one system, designed to sit on a column of 4kWh GB-L-Pro-Pack4.1-2 modules (8–24kWh, 160–700V range) and to charge and discharge it at up to 37A. Its two MPP trackers, one with two strings at 26A and one with one string at 20A, accept up to 19.5kW of PV input. It delivers 15kW rated and 16.5kW maximum output, 80A pass-through and up to 30A per phase in unbalanced operation.

How it works

GB-SL Pro is Deye's all-in-one residential storage system. A GB-L base carries two to six GB-L-Pro-Pack4.1-2 battery modules (4kWh, 102.4V each) that connect in series without cables, a GB-LB-Pro high-voltage control box with the battery management and DC switch, and a GB-S hybrid inverter matched to the column at 540×385mm. Storage ranges from 8kWh at 204.8V to 24kWh at 614.4V.

The GB-S inverters cover 5 to 20kW three-phase and work with lithium batteries of 160–700V at 30A (5kW) or 37A (6–20kW). Two MPP trackers accept up to 1000V and track from 150 to 850V. Off-grid they deliver 1.5 times rated power for 10 seconds, each phase can carry up to 60% of rated power with fully unbalanced loads, and the larger models pass 80A from grid to loads.

Key features

Battery charging and discharging follow six time periods, and Selling First, Zero Export to Load and Zero Export to CT modes handle export. The GEN port connects a diesel generator, a smart load or AC-coupled inverters. The battery modules include temperature sensing of cells and plug-in contacts, optional heating for low temperatures, and Deye rates them for at least 6000 cycles to 70% end of life with a 10-year battery warranty; the inverter warranty is 5 years.

Installation and compatibility

The column stands on a dry, level, load-bearing floor, out of direct sun and away from heat sources, at up to 2000m and 5–90% humidity, in a location with its own fire alarm. Deye's layout drawing recommends at least 600mm of free space beside the column and a 10–35mm gap to the wall, to which the control box is fixed. Modules weigh 39kg and need two people to lift.

Recommended breakers for the 12–20kW inverters are 100A on the grid and 80A on the backup port; 5–10kW models use 50A on the grid. Three CT sensors are supplied for export control. Up to 10 systems can be paralleled in Zero Export to CT mode, each inverter with its own high-voltage battery. Standards listed include CEI 0-21, VDE-AR-N 4105, VDE 0126-1-1, C10-11, RD 1699, G98 and G99.

Monitoring and settings

The inverter is set up on its LCD, including battery parameters, work modes, time-of-use, grid standard and GEN port use. The inverter talks to the BMS over RS485 or CAN and connects to Deye Cloud through an optional Wi-Fi data logger. The 5–6kW inverters are naturally cooled and the larger sizes fan-cooled.
