Overview

Deye BOS-G-Pro 40.96kWh rack battery system is a complete BOS-G-Pro cluster sold under one code: 8 BOS-G-Pack5.1 modules of 5.12kWh, the BOS-G-PDU-2 PRO (PDU with BMS) and the 8-slot 3U-LRACK cabinet. It stores 40.96kWh at 409.6V nominal, about 36.9kWh usable at 90% depth of discharge, with up to 125A charge and discharge current, and the assembled system weighs about 478kg. The module count is already matched to the rest of the system, so there is nothing to check or add, and because the series takes 5 to 16 modules (25.6–81.92kWh) the cluster can grow later. It pairs with Deye three-phase high-voltage hybrid inverters.

How it works

BOS-G-Pro is a modular high-voltage battery for shops, schools, farms and small factories. BOS-G-Pack5.1 modules of 5.12kWh (100Ah, 51.2V) slide into a standard 19-inch rack and are connected in series under a BOS-G-PDU-2 control box, which holds the BMS, a circuit breaker, the touch display and the power and communication ports to the inverter.

A cluster takes 5 to 16 modules: BOS-G25-Pro with 5 modules runs at 256V nominal and 25.6kWh, BOS-G60-Pro with 12 modules at 614.4V and 61.44kWh, and BOS-G80-Pro with 16 modules at 819.2V and 81.92kWh. Recommended current is 50A, nominal charge and discharge current 100A, and discharge peaks of 125A are allowed for 2 minutes at 25°C. Usable energy is 90% of nominal.

Key features

Each module contains a fire protecting device with its own temperature sensing that releases an extinguishing agent if the core temperature passes a safety threshold. The BMS covers over-charge, over-discharge, over-current and temperature limits and balances the cells. Modules can stay on the shelf for up to 6 months without charging. Deye rates the cells for at least 6000 cycles at 0.5C to 70% end of life, with a 10-year warranty.

Installation and compatibility

The 3U-LRACK holds up to 8 modules and the 3U-HRACK up to 12, each with one control box; 13 to 16 modules use two racks linked by the supplied cables. The IP20 system belongs in an enclosed fireproof room with an independent fire alarm, at 5–85% humidity and up to 3000m, with 100mm to walls and between racks. Racks and modules are transported separately, and BOS-G-Pro must not be used as a UPS.

Deye pairs BOS-G-Pro with its three-phase high-voltage hybrid inverters, such as SUN-50K-SG01HP3-EU-BM4 and SUN-80K-SG02HP3-EU-EM6 in its solution brochure, with up to 16 clusters in parallel and up to 10 inverters in AC parallel. Clusters in one group must have the same module count, and the battery-to-inverter communication cable must not exceed 30m. Two 2m power cables connect the control box to the inverter's battery terminals.

Monitoring and settings

The control box display shows state of charge and status, and after installation the number of modules is entered in its password-protected maintenance menu, followed by a restart. Fault flags cover over-voltage, under-voltage, over-temperature, insulation, charge over-current and other faults. Data go to the inverter over CAN 2.0 or RS485, firmware can be updated from a USB stick or remotely through a Deye inverter, and the USB port also records battery data.
